Hackett Joins Crowded 55 Meter Hurdle Field

It's been tough for any girl in Maryland to break away from the rest of the pack in the 55 meter hurdles this season. Heading into Saturday four girls, led by Bullis' Alexis Postell, were separated by just .07 seconds atop the Maryland leaderboard in the event. Baltimore Poly's Nadia Hackett decided that William Henderson shouldn't be the only one on her team to have a great day on Saturday, as she dropped a personal best of 8.24 in the finals.
Last year's 3A state champion in the 300 hurdles, Hackett has now shaved nearly three tenths of a second off her 55 hurdle time from last winter. The performance puts her right in the mix for the title of top hurdler in Maryland this winter and probably the favorite for the 3A state title. Hackett wasn't done, however - she finished seventh in the invitational 400 at 59.80.
