Sydney Williams was not far off the meet record in the event last year - she missed it by less than a tenth of a second - and will be back for another shot at it this year. She set a meet record at the SMAC Championships back in January where she set a season best of 8.12. She won't be the only girl shooting for a state title and meet record, however: Friendly's Karryngton Harrison exploded in January with a personal best of 8.13, which is also better than the current 2A state meet record.
