Goy started the season hovering around six feet, but hit his stride in mid-January when he won the Montgomery County Championships by clearing 6'4. He swept his county, regional and state meets and was one of just three boys to clear 6'6 on the season. He was also versatile, finishing among the state's top 50 in both the 55 hurdles and triple jump.
