Biggest Breakout Performances From Last Weekend's State Meet

Edward Belsoi, Eleanor Roosevelt

The senior had long been knocking on the door of a sub-10:00 performance heading into the spring and he finally got it at the Mullins-Russell Invitational. However on Friday evening he took it to a new level. Belsoi latched onto the lead pack in the 4A 3200 and refused to let go, finishing in sixth place with a shiny new personal best of 9:38.33. Roosevelt is now one of just eight 4A schools with multiple sub-9:40 two milers since 2012 as Belsoi joins former state champion Justin Ahalt.
