Week #8: July 30 - August 5
Tight hamstring - took the day off.
3.7 miles at 6:51 pace. Not use to the Maryland humidity, and I didn't feel great overall after taking two days off. My mileage will increase over the next few weeks from this past week as I start to feel the benefits of spending six weeks at high altitude.
Morning shakeout (2.2 miles at 6:59 pace).
Afternoon run (4.3 miles at 6:57 pace). Felt pretty good today during two relaxed runs.
I had a solid 35 minute run today (5.1 miles at 6:55 pace). I started off easy and progressively ran faster (7:10, 7:06, 6:59, 6:42, 6:41).
Tempo workout. 15 minute warm-up (2.1 miles), two minute buildup, 20 minute run at 5:56 pace (3.4 miles), ten minute cooldown.
Morning shakeout (2.1 miles at 7:21 pace).
Afternoon run (4.2 miles at 7:10 pace). Felt alright, but sore from yesterday's tempo.
Morning run (three miles at 7:02 pace).
Afternoon shakeout (2.21 miles at 6:57 pace). Easy day before a longer run tomorrow
