Andre Turay Finally Breaks 14 Seconds In 110 Hurdles!

South Hagerstown junior and state leader Andre Turay had been chasing all season long sub 14 seconds in the 110 hurdles. In the past 4 weeks, Turay twice clocked times of 14 seconds flat the Bullis Bulldog Invitational and Central Maryland Conference Championships.

On Thursday at the Washington County Championships on his home track at South Hagerstown, Turay finally achieved the performance which had prior alluded him. The New Balance Nationals Indoor All-American in the 60 meter hurdles, Turay clocked a time of 13.95 to break his own county record in the event. If there wind gauges at the event and his time was wind legal, the performance would also rank US #9.

With sub 14 seconds out of the way, possibly sub 38 seconds for the 300 meter hurdles is next major goal on Turay's mind. He won the event at the Washington County Championships as well just off his season best (38.06) in a time of 38.28 on his home track.
