Last year, River Hill's Jasmine Tiamfook and Mount Hebron's Emily Beyer went back-and-forth throughout the cross country season in an effort to establish themselves as the top runner in Howard County. The two met a total of four times, and both won the matchup twice. The closest race came at the county championships where Tiamfook edged Beyer by one second. With both girls coming back for 2017, will the race turn into a two-person race like last fall? Or will somebody else emerge as a contender before October?
