Meet Information
On Saturday, November 12, 2016, the 12th annual Washington, DC and Maryland Private Schools Cross-Country Championship will be held at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, Maryland. All private schools in Washington, DC and Maryland will be invited to compete.
The meet will serve as a state private schools championship, with small-schools and large-schools divisionshigh schools with an enrollment of under 400 (co-ed) or 200 (single-gender) will be eligible for the small schools division. The following guidelines will apply:
Junior Varsity races will have unlimited entries; Varsity races will be limited to 7 runners per team.
In order to compete in the JV race, a school must field a varsity team.
The small and large school divisions will be combined in one race, but will be scored out to produce separate small and large school results.
The format of the meet will proceed as follows:
11:00 Coaches Meeting
12:00 Boys JV (unlimited entries)
trophy to the winning team & ribbons to top 10 individuals (small and large)
12:45 Girls JV (unlimited entries)
trophy to the winning team & ribbons to top 10 individuals (small and large)
1:30 Boys Varsity (7 athletes per team)
trophies to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place teams & medals to top 10 individuals (small and large)
2:00 Girls Varsity (7 athletes per team)
trophies to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place teams & medals to top 10 individuals (small and large)
2:45 Awards Ceremony
The entry fee for the meet will be $175.00 for single-sex schools and $225.00 for co-ed schools. Checks should be made out to St. Albans School, with a notation that the check is for the 11/12 private schools championship.
In order to register your runners you will need to have submitted your fee and emailed Ted Findler by November 5th, so please mail your checks to: Ted Findler, St. Albans School, Mt. Two important final notes:
Coaches will enter their teams and athletes using Athletic.net (http://www.athletic.net).
The deadline for entries will be Monday, November 7.
Please keep in mind the cutoff for large and small divisions: 400 co-ed, 200 single-sex.
