No. 17: Winston Churchill High School
After two rare rebuilding years for the Churchill boys in 2012-13, they have bounced back to finish in the top ten at the state championships in consecutive seasons. Repeating that success will not be easy for the Bulldogs in 2016, as just two of their state finishers from last season will return. The good news for them is that they still boast one of the deepest teams in the state; even with five of their top runners having graduated, they return six more with sub-18 personal bests. A trio of rising seniors - Grant Dong, Matthew Goldsmith and Matthew Halverson - lead the group of returners, and it's not hard to envision Churchill putting five or more guys right around the 17:00 mark. The 4A West region can be brutal for teams that lose this much of their team from last season, but the Churchill boys are more than equipped to handle it.
