No. 17: Maryvale Prep School
The defending IAAM champions return in 2016 as the top - and only - private school on the girls power rankings. It helps when they have one of the top returning individual runners in the state: rising senior Emily Craig. Last year she won the IAAM Championships by over 30 seconds, as well as winning the Spiked Shoe and Gunpowder invitationals. Behind her, the next three returners - Isabel Pineo, Abby Gonzalez, and Kaylie Homberg - all finished in the top twenty at the IAAM Championships. They should be strong on depth, with seven girls returning with sub-6:00 personal bests in the 1600. With the conferences top returner to lead the younger girls, the Maryvale Prep girls look to be in a good position to win consecutive IAAM Championships.
