Hereford senior Kelly Wesolowski's comeback tour continued on this weekend with another amazing performance as she broke the course record at the Gettysburg Invitational in Pennsylvania by 17 seconds with a new 5K personal best time of 18:07. Wesolowski won by a 34 second margin for her second major invitational win and third sub 19 minute performance of the season.

The defending 2A state champions from Hereford finished second in the team standings behind a strong Dallastown squad. Hereford averaged 20:04 as a squad with 3 top 20 finishers in Weslowski, Emily Konkus (6th, 19:44), and Kelly Shearer (17th, 20:20).

Two more Maryland schools also finished well in the meet with Broadneck in 4th place (151 pts) and Maryvale Prep in 6th place (194 pts). Maryvale Prep's Emily Craig was the second highest Maryland finisher behind Wesolowski in the race with a 4th place effort of 19:21 from the defending IAAM cross country champ.

In the boys race, Broadneck's Paul Squires had a strong race to finish 3rd individually with a time of 16:29. It was a season best time for Squires and only 3 seconds off his PR of 16:26 from last year's Anne Arundel County Championships.

Squires led the Broadneck boys to a team title at Gettysburg as they put up 68 points to win by a margin of 29 points against a Virginia squad in Mountain View. Broadneck had a 40 second spread for their top 5 and almost their entire top 5 finish among the top 20 places individually.

Meanwhile, Calvert Hall College boys finished 5th with 166 point and Hereford took 8th with 273 points.
