Vote below for Maryland's Week #8 Girls XC Runner of the Week from the October 15th week of meets. This week's batch of nominees includes Rising Sun's Arianna Wheeler, Walter Johnson's Abigail Green, Severna Park's Kamryn Eveleth and C. Milton Wright's Haley Cummins.

She's been in this poll for more weeks than not this season, but this past Saturday Walter Johnson's Abigail Green put together possibly her most dominant performance of the season. She blew her own course record at Gaithersburg's Bohrer Park out of the water on her way to her second straight Montgomery County title. Her looming rematch with Annapolis' Maria Coffin at the 4A State Championships will surely be one of the best races of the season in the state.

On Tuesday, Rising Sun senior Arianna Wheeler won the Cecil County Championships in 22:01.15. Her sister Emma finished fifth, and both girls were part of a dominant Rising Sun team that won the meet with just 23 points. Not too far away at the Harford County Championships, Wright freshman Haley Cummins continued her outstanding season by cracking the 19-minute mark for the first time. Her final mark of 18:50.20 was more than a minute seconds faster than the next-fastest finisher. The two girls will get their chance to race each other at this week's UCBAC Championships.

On Saturday, Severna Park sophomore Kamryn Eveleth was the fastest Maryland runner at the Georgetown Prep Classic. She finished third in the seeded girls race, running an impressive 19:45.00 on the difficult Georgetown Prep cross country course.
