Last year's 1A state champion Khaalea Collins will be back this season to defend her title and, possibly, go for the state meet record of 8.49. Collins clocked a faster time (8.44) at last year's PG County Indoor Championships. She has already captured nine total state championships in the first three years of her high school career, so she could be eyeing the state meet record as one of the final pieces of her legacy at Surrattsville.
