The pole vault isn't a premier track and field event in the state of Maryland but Saturday provides an opportunity to watch some of the top vaulters around. South River's Gwendolyn Zeckowski has already set one meet record this season in the pole vault at the Howard County Winterfest. She set a personal best at the Hoco/Anne Arundel mixer last week by clearing 11'1, just two inches off the Montgomery Invitational meet record set back in 2012.

BCC's Victoria Toth won the 4A state pole vault title last spring by clearing 11 feet, her personal best. She has yet to vault this indoor season but is the top seed entering Saturday's competition.
