Name: Sebastien Breton

School: Winston Curchill

What was your most memorable race/throw/jump/vault/moment? Why is that?

My most memorable moments in cross country are my team winning the divisional and MCPS championships, placing 17th at NXR with a time of 15:44, leading my team to achieve ninth place, and winning multiple XC invitationals. My most memorable moments in track are winning first place in the DMR and placing third in the 800 at the Urbana Invitational and placing third in the 3200 at the MCPS championship with the second fastest time in school history.

Was there a certain moment or breakthrough race/meet when you realized you would be able to compete at a high level?

I'll I knew I'd that I have worked so hard to become one of the fastest runners in the whole country.

If you are writing a letter to your younger freshman self, what advice might you give them?

My advice is to keep rolling whenever you have any good or bad days. Any good days you have, make long memories out of it. Any bad memories you have, make short memories out of them. If you put in a lot, you'll get out of it a lot. If you fail, your two choices are to either fall down or keep your head up because success is not final and failure is not fatal. Don't stop when you are exhausted, stop when you're done. An early bird is an early winner.

If you had to pick: Track and Field or Cross Country, and why? (If you only run Track, then don't worry about explaining why).

Cross country, because you get to run anywhere in certain areas like local parks and long trails. It's good to run on softer surfaces because there is less risk of injuries as long as you don't overtrain. It keeps you healthy throughout the whole season.

What are your post-high school or college plans? If Running in college, explain why you picked that school.

My college plans are to keep working hard for college cross country at McDaniel College. I haven't decided my major yet.

What is your favorite pre-race snack, tradition, etc.?

My favorite pre-race snacks are oatmeal, yogurt, banana, and mandarin.

Name the top Maryland Cross Country or Track moment(s) you have witnessed. Could be by the level of greatness or just something that really stood out to you.

The 3200m race at the MCPS championships for outdoor track.

Who would you like to say "thank you" to?

I would like to say thank you to my team, my coaches, and the runners from other schools for making me become the best I could ever become. This has been an awesome experience and I'm ready to see what I'm capable of in college.
