One of the newer 3A state meet records is already on the verge of being broken. Thomas Johnson's Tamara Ovejera threw a 3A record of 42'3 in her win back in 2013, but Urbana's Delia Sipe may wipe that mark out of existence this year. She has exceeded that mark twice already this season, including a recent personal best of 44'2.50 at the 3A West Regionals. The senior will be seeking her second straight 3A shot put state title - and perhaps even more - at next week's state meet.
