Girls 100
2016 Winner: Jaida Smith (Frederick) 12.03
After missing the start of the indoor season, Smith came on strong to win the 55 meter dash at the indoor state championships and lead the Frederick girls to a win in the 4x200 as well. She hasn't yet made her season debut in the 100 but there's no denying that she is one of the best in Maryland in the event. The 3A classification may not be easy to win this year, however: three of the top 12 girls on the current state leaderboard are from 3A schools (Kayla Barnes, 7th, Baltimore City College; Azarelle Mapp, 9th, James M. Bennett; Christina Riggins, 12th, C. Milton Wright).
