2016 Winner: Nyjari McNeil (Franklin) 56.07 and 2:14.45
Still just a junior, McNeil already owns seven individual state championships. A strong Saturday at the Bullis Bulldog Invitational has her sitting fourth on the state leaderboard in the 400 and first in the 800. Her biggest competition in the 400 may be her new teammate Cameron Hinton, one of two girls to have gone under 56 seconds so far this spring. Mount Hebron sophomore Sydney Robinson also ranks in the top five in the state. McNeil may be a better bet to repeat in the 800, although three of the next five runners behind her on the state leaderboard are also in 3A.
