In a wide-open field in the 4A boys shot put, the Northwestern sophomore took advantage and grabbed an unexpected third place finish. It was an exceptional performance especially considering his ninth-place finish at the 4A East regionals during the indoor season. Only a sophomore, he will have plenty of time to build on the momentum from his state meet breakthrough and could become one of the top thrower in the 4A classification for years to come.
