Six of the top hurdlers from last season have graduated, leaving some holes in the list for a new group of athletes. Two of the top ten hurdlers last spring were freshmen, including Bullis' Leah Phillips, whose 13.94 performance at the Texas Relays ranks in the top ten on MileSplit's "Since 2000" database. McNamara's Taylor Grimes would have had the fastest time on the same indoor leaderboard had it not been for Bullis' Masai Russell, highlighting just how strong this year's group of hurdlers is.

Others to watch: The top three public school athletes on this list all compete head-to-head in the 4A classification, and Pessima, Adeyemi and Dunbar went 1-2-3 at the indoor state meet in the 55 meter hurdles this year; Hannah Meredith finished second in the hurdles at the 3A state meet this year behind Reservoir sophomore Adaobi Tabugbo; Lackey's Taylor Williams continued the family tradition of hurdle excellence by winning the 1A indoor title this year and could make an appearance among the top ten in the event sooner rather than later.
