Top Races To Watch At Saturday's Bullis Bulldog Invitational

Boys 200

Freedom's (Woodbridge, VA) Igo Grimes didn't spend too much time focusing on the 200 last spring, because he was too busy running 47.19 in the 400. However, he is still the proud owner of a 21.50 personal best in the event and will be one of the favorites in the event on Saturday. (Photo by Mary Ann Magnant)

Meet Record: Carlon Hosten (Taft) - 21.50, 2017

Taft's Carlon Hosten broke Eric Harrison's meet record last year, in a race that also saw High Point's Ken Nelson (21.55) also dip under the previous meet record. This year's race already features two athletes who have run under 21.50 before: Northeast's Davon Carroll and Freedom's (Woodbridge, VA) Igo Grimes. In fact most of the top athletes entered are from out-of-state, save for the three-time state champion Carroll and DuVal's Adewunmi Oloyede. "Only" ten boys ran under 22.50 at last year's meet, and that number may double on Saturday.
