The No. 6 picks for First Team All-State are listed below.
First Team All-State; Pick No. 6
Elizabeth McCarter, Senior
Mount Hebron
Championships: Howard County -- #3 | 3A East -- #1 | 3A State -- #1
After spending an entire season second to North Carroll's Katie Hursey, along with a few other 3A athletes, McCarter thrust herself to the very top with her regional and state performances, both of which she was named champion of. McCarter competed in more meets than any other First Team All-State runner this season, winning several of them. Her consistent work this season bodes well for her indoor and outdoor track campaigns.

First Team All-State; Pick No. 7
Dwight Parker, Senior
Woodlawn
Championships: Baltimore County -- #1 | 4A North -- #1 | 4A State -- #2
Provoking controversy over whether 2004 and 2005 Baltimore County Champion Dwight Parker would be able to repeat for a third year, the athlete did not participate in a single invitational this season, and his appearances at Baltimore County league meets did not do anything for his reputation. He returned to the state arena at his county championships, where he defeated Dulaney's Vince Walsh for the title, doing so again at the Region 4A Finals. He was second only to Matthew Centrowitz at the state finals, clocking a time of 16:31.13.
