Dulaney boys return arguably the deepest lineup on state in Maryland and still looking to get over the hump against Severna Park in 4A. A top 5 returning with times ranging from 15:28 to 16:19, hopeful to qualify for NXN this year too. Had 3 guys go under 10 minutes in recent camp 2 mile time trial.
2
The 3-time Maryland 4A champions who have qualified for 2 straight NXN including a 13th place in 2014 will be looking to reload again despite a few graduation losses. Led by Andrew Forsyth (9:32 3200/15:17 5K).
3
Not a single runner graduated from their 2014 squad which won the WCAC title and DC/Maryland private schools title. Led by two sub 16 guys in Jack Wavering and Kevin McGivern.
4
The defending MIAA champions return 3 of their top 4 runners and 3 guys who ran sub 10 for 3200 on the track and another who ran 1:53 for 800 meters.
5
The reigning 3A state champs who averaged under 17 minutes at Hereford and won by 60 points graduated their top 2 runners, but have the next 5 back to make them a very experienced squad and favored to defend their 3A title.
6
Only one graduation loss from a squad that one year ago finished 5th in the Maryland 4A state race. Dylan Kanneppell will be team's #1 hovering around 16 minutes, while remaining top 5 has run just under 17 for 5K or right at the time.
7
Gotta believe that last year's MIAA runners-up McDonogh can find at least one serviceable #5 runner to go along with their formidable top 4 led by one of nation's top sophomores in Dalton Hengst. Right now they go into season with 2 minute gap to their 5th returnee at 19 minutes though.
8
Had one of the most tightly packed spread teams in last year's 4A state race at 28 seconds. Return 5 of their top 7. Not a team that has a true front runner, but has depth and tight pack to make them competitive.
9
8th place finishers in last year's 4A state race, Wootton boys return 4 of their top 7 including 3 runners who dipped under 17 minutes last fall.
10
A model of consistency finishing as top 3 in 3A state two years in a row and only graduating two runners from their top 7.

The preseason top 10 All-Class boys team cross country rankings in the state of Maryland. Dulaney begins the season as the most formidable team on paper based on their returnees led by the state's #1 ranked preseason individual in Eric Walz. However, it is tough to count out the Severna Park boys and the active streak which they currently have going for them in winning 4 straight Maryland state cross country championships in 4A as well as qualifying for 2 consecutive Nike Cross Nationals including a respectable 13th place finish last December in Portland, Oregon.

Could two private school programs in Good Counsel and Loyola-Blakefield also mix it up with the best public school squads and show themselves as the best in Maryland this fall? Could several 3A squads also become mainstays in our top 10 including the likes of River Hill, Mt. Hebron, and Urbana? Who will rise as the top team this fall in the always deep Montgomery County? We shall see!

Our season plan is post weekly top 10 All-Class rankings for teams, while top 10 rankings for each classification to be posted every other week.
