Took second in an alternating leg relay race format on Tuesday, but not ready to drop the top ranked team just yet until we see them race a regular XC distance race. Look for the Oatlands Invitational in Virginia on September 19th as their big opening race against a quality multi-state field.

A great season opening win on Tuesday at the Woodward Relays racing against #1 preseason ranked Walter Johnson and other top Montgomery County area programs. Addition of transfer Michaela Peterson has been huge. Six girls already under 21 minutes for 5K this season between a team time trial and scrimmage.
3
Ran a very impressive 2 mile time trial at end of August with 9 girls under 13 minutes led by Sami King at 11:29, while Olivia Woods will be one of state's best #2 runners at 11:47 in time trial.
4
Teamed up with their male counterparts to win the Baltimore County Relays with the fastest 3 co-ed relays in the meet to finish ahead of top relays for Towson and Hereford. Host Barnhart Invite this weekend.
5
Outstanding team victory down in Virginia with Claudia Wendt running impressive 19:32 for win on challenging 5K course, but senior Megan Crilly's 3rd place finish was even more noteworthy as having a front running duo will bolster their team this fall.
6
After defeating preseason top 10 ranked Severna Park decisively in a scrimmage, kept the momentum going at Interstate Classic inserting 5 runners among top 15 places for large school division to average 20:56 as a squad for the win.
7
Top two girls teamed up with top two boys to finish 3rd and 4th fastest relays in their home meet and relay kickoff meet.
8
The 3A state champs from 2 years ago look ready to challenge River Hill to get the title back after Brunswick Invite performance taking 4 of the top 5 places behind Brit Lang in the large school division and averaging 20:42 as a team.
9
Took third in the combined scoring from the co-ed relay, but showed depth with 4 of the top 11 fastest relays in the meet.
10
This team was nowhere near our top 10 in the preseason. Not even in the top 50 in state based on 5K times alone, but pulled off a shocker in winning Seahawk Invite averaging 20:27 as a squad with 4 girls 20:20 or faster and among the top 20 places as a new challenger in 3A.

Three new teams join the All-Maryland Girls Top 10 Team Rankings after the initial preseason rankings was release two weeks ago. All 3 teams are from 3A with the 2014 state champions from River Hill, the 2013 state champions from Centennial, and this past week's surprise Seahawk Invitational winners Northern-Calvert.

Just as we were beginning to compile this latest rankings update, news and results from the Woodward Relays came in that the #1 ranked team was defeated by their Montgomery County and 4A rivals in Bethesda-Chevy Chase girls. We aren't ready just yet to drop Walter Johnson from the #1 spot with a loss in an untraditional XC race format of alternating legs running a mile distance, but at least ready to move Bethesda-Chevy Chase with the huge addition of transfer Michaela Peterson (formerly at Holy Cross) up to #2 or really a #1B ranking right on Walter Johnson's heels.

Next weekend will be a telling weekend with many top teams traveling to Oatlands Invitational and the next two weekends should see all teams having their first, second, or third major invitational at the 5K or three mile distance for more data to analyze.
