Quick Highlights: It was a great day to be a River Hill Hawk at the Blazers Invitational on Saturday with both boys and girls cross country teams repeating as the meet's team champions as well as being led by the individual race winners in Trent Rose (15:49) and Jasmine Tiamfook (18:58.30).
While Rose pulled away by a 17 second margin of victory over Liberty's Nick Tilson (2nd, 16:06), the sophomore Tiamfook won a dramatic race finish between herself at Liberty's Heidi Rinehart also timed at 18:58 and Gov. Thomas Johnson's Abby Pinto in third at 19:00.
The Clarksburg girls (94 pts) were distant runners-up to the River Hill girls (46 pts) who averaged a swift time of 19:55 for their top 5 runners including 4 finishing among the top 15 places at times of 20:34 or faster.
The Mt. Hebron boys had to finish second yet again to their 3A rivals at River Hill, but were led by third place finisher Greg Bisant, who ran a PR of 16:11. The River Hill boys saw 4 of their runners break 16:30 at Utica Park and finish among the top 9 places.
