The Loyola-Blakefield and McDonogh School boys cross country teams both made the Friday trip up to the Paul Short Run in Pennsylvania with Dalton Hengst as the top Maryland performer in 7th place at 15:50 in the brown division race. The sophomore Hengst has consistently been under 16 minutes in all his races so far this season after a runner-up finish at the Barnhart Invite and third place finish in the elite race at the Bull Run Invite.

More impressive race may have come from his teammate Lucas Wright to finish 15th place with a 5K PR of 16:03 in the top seeded brown ahead of the top runners from Loyola-Blakefield in Frankie Legambi (21st, 16:07) and Kenny Rowe (28th, 16:13).

The Loyola-Blakefield boys still though appear to be the top team in the IAAM conference that includes McDonogh and others though as they finished 8th overall as a squad at Paul Short averaging 16:44 on a fast 5K course that was slowed down considerably with the rainy and muddy conditions from t...
