Franklin sophomore Nyjari McNeil traveled up to New York this weekend to compete in the 600 at the Bishop Loughlin Games. She probably was expecting to race against the top entrants in the fast section, but the US leader in the 500 coming into the weekend for some reason was placed in a slower section.
No problem for the Maryland state champ as she bested all the performers from other sections at the Bishop Loughlin Games with a 1:34.65 clocking that earned her a US #1 ranking in an event for a second straight weekend. Makes you wonder with her 600 meter performance on what she could run an open 800 eventually this year after running 2:14 over the summer in an AAU track meet.
