Always A Maryland Native To Us, WATCH US#1 21.04 200 By Maxwell Willis!

A multiple state champion last year in Maryland at Bowie High School, Maxwell Willis is approaching a sub 21 second time indoors in the 200 meter dash this winter at his new school of Archbishop Carroll in DC. Willis improved upon his national leading time today in the event at the University of Kentucky Invitational with a 21.04 victory to break the meet and facility record of 21.16.

Willis could be a real contender for a national title in the event as the 2015 World Youth Championships team member for the United States will be one of the top challengers for defending New Balance Nationals national champion Noah Lyles at nearby T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia.

Maryland squads Bullis School and Riverdale Baptist made the trip out to Lexington, Kentucky as well. The Bullis girls were in a loaded 4x400 meter relay later in the meet. They had several girls run under 60 seconds in the open 400 led by Lauryn Harris at 57.48 (19th fastest overall). Their depth was on display in the 4x400 with their "B" squad running 3:52 for fourth and their "A" squad improving upon their season best and MD #2 all-time performance to 3:45.66. Their time put them under the old meet and facility record, but finished second behind Motor City Track Club from Michigan at 3:45.00.

Earlier in the meet, Stephanie Davis of Riverdale Baptist finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18'1.50" and 7th in the 200 meter dash with a 24.64 clocking. Davis false started the finals of the 60 meter dash, which Quince Orchard's Ashley Seymour also qualified for and finished 6th in the finals with a time of 7.65.
