Maryland had some outstanding performers this winter in the field events including two All-Americans at the New Balance Nationals in long jump runner-up William Henderson of Baltimore Poly and sixth place pentathlon finisher Kollin Smith of Frederick Douglass-PG.
Meanwhile, Century had a pair of state champions in the vertical events with Alex Stefanick in the high jump and Kyle Bryant in the pole vault. A sophomore proved himself way ahead of not only his class and peers in 10th grade, but the rest of the state with James Hubert Blake's Jabari Bennett throwing as far as 55 feet in the shot.
