Oakland Mills senior Brit Lang wrapped up her decorated career in the Howard County Championships over the last two days in successfully winning all three distance races in stellar times at Long Reach High School for the 2016 outdoor county meet.
The University of North Florida recruit started off her final county meet in a record breaking performance in the 3200 meter run on Monday. Lang set a blistering pace early on including a 5:16 split thru the first 1600 meters before finishing with a 16 second PR of 10:43.99 to claim the 3200 title and county record.
Coming back for day two on Tuesday, Lang was dominant again in taking first in the 1600 meter run with a season best time of 5:07.14 as she will looking to be pursuing her sub 5 minute race over the next month. In her next race, she blitzed the field in the 800 meter run to post a lifetime best of 2:16.83.
A cross country state champion as a freshmen, next major goal for Lang to achieve is to go out as a state champion again. Based on her county meet triple (actually quadrouple ran anchor on the 4x400), Lang appears to be all in and running her best for the final chapter of her high school career.
