McDonogh School sophomore Dalton Hengst just got word at the start of this week that he has been invited to race in the adidas Dream Mile this Friday in Boston. Hengst had set as a major goal for himself this spring to be invited to one of the premier post-season races with a race schedule that include traveling to the Raleigh Relays, New York Relays, Penn Relays, and Golden South Classic racing against elite competition.
His many travels will be rewarded with another trip, this time all expenses paid for by adidas this weekend to Boston, to compete in the two-day adidas Boost Boston Games being held with elite pro and high school races.
One of the nation's fastest sophomore milers with his 4:10.43 PR, Hengst will have a great shot at being pulled along to a sub 4:10 mile in the field assembled for this year's adidas Dream Mile. He should gain valuable experience to build towards his next two years of high school as well. Don't forget, he's still a tenth grader!
