1. Walter Johnson (Week Three: #3): They're beginning to click at just the right time, led by junior Abigail Green. It's going to be tough for anyone to deny them their fourth straight state championship.

2. Northern-Calvert (Week Three: #2): The Northern girls have been on a roll since the sound of the first gun in September. Their third-place finish at Glory Days might have been their top accomplishment of the season so far, but they've definitely got their eyes set on bigger goals as we head into championship season.

3. Hereford (Week Three: #4): Senior Kelly Wesolowski gets better every week, and the rest of the team behind her isn't too shabby either. They have a date with Dulaney in a week and a half at the Baltimore County Championships.

4. Bethesda-CC (Week Three: #1): At full strength they have the talent to hang with Walter Johnson, but they're going to need to be at full strength going forward.

5. River Hill (Week Three: #5): The River Hill girls have occupied the five spot since week one, and for good reason as they've had an excellent season so far. They probably have the best chance out of any 3A team to take down Northern at the state championships.

6. Thomas S. Wootton (Week Three: NR): The Wootton girls, with a solid 1-5 group, are beginning to close the gap on the B-CC girls. What's even brighter for them is their future, as their top four runners are all sophomores.

7. Catoctin (Week Three: NR): Being a runner, coach or fan of the Catoctin girls can't be good for the heart: the Cougars have won each of their past two invitationals (Mountain Run and Crossfire) by one point each over 2A West rivals Century and Winters Mill.

8. South River (Week Three: #8): The South River girls quietly scored a dominant victory at this past weekend's Chaptico Invitational. They head into their showdown with Severna Park and Broadneck at the Anne Arundel County Championships as the team favorite.

9. Dulaney (Week Three: NR): After solid performances at Spiked Shoe and Glory Days (where they beat Wootton and finished just behind B-CC) the Dulaney girls are climbing up the rankings at just the right time.

10. Spalding (Week Three: NR): It's always difficult to choose the number ten team, but the Spalding girls get the nod this time around for their breakout season, led by outstanding freshmen Lacey Eden and Allysa Combs.
