Some of Maryland's best private school programs and athletes in track & field are found in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) for girls and Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) for boys. Several of state's best prep track & field athletes returnees will be showcased in the IAAM/MIAA live streams on MileSplit.
Dalton Hengst, a junior at McDonogh School, is a 4:10 miler and last year won all 3 distance events at the MIAA Indoor Championships. He's a great showman as can be seen here. Meanwhile, Tory Young of Gilman School was a member of his school's Championships of American 4x800 finals qualifying squad and brings back one of state's fastest 500 PR's at 1:06.33.

Look to the Maryvale Prep girls for the top two stars among IAAM teams between sprinter Cameron Hinton and distance runner Emily Craig. Hinton has run 55 seconds in the open 400 and excels indoors at the 500 (1:16.47 PR) and 300 (40.63) meter distances. Last year, Craig swept the indoor distance title conference titles similar to Hengst and ran indoor bests of 2:19 in the 800, 5:13 in the 1600, and 11:12 in the 3200.
The IAAM/MIAA co-host two league meets on two Friday nights at the PG County Sportsplex prior to their championship meet on Friday, January 27th. Those two league meet dates are Friday, December 16th and Friday, January 6th. All three meets will be LIVE streamed exclusively on MileSplit as well will be able to find archived race videos post-event.
