While the first SMAC League Meet last Friday saw several of the conference's top athletes held out, very few will be missing on Wednesday for the second meet, which will once again be LIVE streamed on Find who will be back in action in SMAC League Meet #2!

Hayley Jackson makes her triumphant return back home from a Foot Locker All-American finish this past Saturday in San Diego. Jackson, who finished 8th at Foot Locker Nationals this past weekend, is entered to race in the 1600, 3200, and 800. A tough triple indeed over a couple hours at the PG County Sportsplex, but an athlete as talented as Jackson should be up for the challenge.

The Westlake boys have two of the state's top returning sprinters in Will Moten and Thomas Alcorn. Neither raced individually last Friday, but will be on the track this week. Moten will be the top seed in the 55 (6.52) and 300 (35.42) meter dash, while Alcorn should challenge his teammate in the 300 as the second fastest seed (36.47) along with favored in the 500 having run 47.79 this past spring in the 400.

Lackey's Sydney Williams was not absent from the first SMAC League Meet as she opened with a 8.44 clocking in the 55 hurdles by the defending 2A state champ. She will be back in the hurdles to see if she can lower that season best time closer to her personal best from a year ago of 8.04.

The Lackey girls will look to clean up the sprints with Dominique Jeffery as the top seed in the 55 meter dash, while teammates Destiny Thompson and Taylor Williams will be the fastest two entrants in the 300 meter dash. Jeffery won the 55 (7.50) and 500 (1:22.16) in last Friday's SMAC League Meet.

The Northern-Calvert girls will be racing all of their top distance runners including this past weekend's Howard County Winter Festival 1600 champ Sarah Deresky and 3200 runner-up Molly Barrick. Barrick ran a huge PR of 11:03 in the 3200 on Saturday. Their teammate Abby Sweeney went under 11:40 for 3200 in last week's SMAC League Meet with defending 3A state 1600 champ Annie Imhof of Great Mills. Sweeney will be in the 1600 this week with teammate Barrick, while Imhof will get to race against Jackson this time around in the 3200.

The boys 1600 should be a good matchup between Northern-Calvert's Charlie Sweeney and Westlake's Jay Hall. Both ran strong 3200 times on separate days last week with Hall winning the first SMAC League Meet in a MD #3 time of 9:49, while Sweeney posted a MD #2 time of 9:48 the next day at the Howard County Winter Festival. Meanwhile, Calvert's Justin Diehl will be in the 3200 and look to best both of their times in a solo effort to raise SMAC's total to 3 sub 10 minute 3200 runners in the young indoor season.
