Maryland Does Work At Bishop Loughlin Games!


While the state of Maryland was shut down on Saturday due to the icy roads and weather, a talented group of state's elite was able to escape to New York to throw down some impressive times on the fast banked track at Ocean Breeze for the Bishop Loughlin Games on Saturday.

Bullis Girls & Boys Sweep 4x200's In US #1 Times!


The Bullis School boys and girls made a clean sweep of the 4x200's in the red division races at the Bishop Loughlin Games as both squads ran nation leading times. The girls ran away with their race by a 5 second margin of victory in a time of 1:40.53. The Bullis girls just missed out on a second relay victory on the day with a narrow runner-up finish in the 4x400 with a MD #2 time of 4:05.72. Their squad also claimed the team title on the day at the Bishop Loughlin Games.
The Bullis boys were equally as dominant in their US #1 time of 1:28.47. With the Allen brothers featured on their relay, this squad should be potentially Maryland's fastest this year as the current national leaders. The Bullis boys also claimed the team title at the Bishop Loughlin Games similar to their girls.

Eric Allen Rolls To Nation's Best 34.13 In 300!


In the boys 300 meter dash, two smoking fast times were produced by Maryland stars Eric Allen of Bullis and Will Moten of Westlake with Allen in nation's leading time of 34.13, while Moten was second in a US #2 time of 34.57. In the 55 meter dash finals, Westlake's Will Moten was a runner-up tying the state's best of 6.43 with Eric Allen of Bullis right behind him in third place at 6.46. The Bullis School boys also won the team title at the Bishop Loughlin Games. 

Other Maryland boys highlights:
Mike Nash of Hereford was a runner-up in the boys shot put with a mark of 52'8.50". Jay Hall of Westlake was fourth in the two mile run with a 9:49 performance.

5 Girls Hurdles Finalists from Maryland with Alexis Postell winning over Sydney Williams 

The girls 55 meter hurdles finals was a 1-2 finish by Maryland athletes with Sydney Postell of Bullis School winning in a 8.27 clocking followed by Lackey's Sydney Williams in second place with a time of 8.35. The hurdles had 3 more finalist from Maryland with two more from Bullis in Lindsay Lewis (4th, 8.41) and Cierra Pyles (6th, 8.43) as well as another athlete from Lackey in Nikiya Mitchell (6th, 8.66).


Nyjari McNeil repeats as Bishop Loughlin Games 600m champ in US #1 performance

Franklin junior Nyjari McNeil relishes the opportunity to race at the 600 meter distance when she travels north as its a perfect distance for her range and strength in the mid-distance area. 

For the second year in a row, McNeil won the 600 meter run at the Bishop Loughlin Games as she clocked a US #1 time of 1:34.16 on Saturday to win at the Ocean Breeze facility in Staten Island.

Girls 300 finals was Maryland loaded, but no winner

The girls 300 finals at the Bishop Loughlin Games was loaded with Maryland's best with 5 girls in the heat of the 6 in the state posting times ranging from mid 39 seconds to low 40 seconds, but no race winner from the state as Delaware state champ Daija Lampkin took it in 39.19. Franklin's Cameron Hinton was a runner-up in a state leading and personal best performance of 39.53, while Lauryn Harris of Bullis joined her under 40 seconds in third place at 39.71.

Other Maryland girls highlights:

Kelly Wesolowski of Hereford finished third in the girls two mile run with a time of 11:07.68. Teammate Alex Butz was a runner-up in the high jump with a clearance of 5'2", while third in the pole vault at a MD #1 height of 11'0".

Ashley Seymour of Bullis clocked the state's fastest time of the season in the 55 meter dash with a 7.07 third place finish in the finals. 

Courtney Hawkins of Lackey threw for a third place mark of 37'6" in the girls shot put.
