With this year's indoor state championships over the final 2016-17 indoor junior rankings are all but set. Middletown's Riley McDermott continues to improve his times in his junior season, dropping personal bests of 1:06.01 in the 500 and 4:31.42 in the 1600. He also captured his first state title in the 500 at the 2A state championships. McDermott was one of two juniors, along with Northwood's Eldon Phillips, to take home a state title in the boys 500 this season.

St. Andrews junior Luke Armbruster broke out in a big way this indoor season. He has yet to lose a race this indoor season, and he ranks 9th and 5th in the state in the 1600 and 3200, respectively. Luke has already eclipsed his older brother Alex in the 3200, but is still chasing his high school bests in the 800 (1:55.72) and 1600 (4:19.20).
