Garrison Clark, a junior at Severna Park High School, finished his breakout 2017 cross country season with a solid 54th place finish overall at the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon. Clark was able to move up in the last 1000 meters of the race to clock a 5K time of 15:59 on the Glendoveer Golf Course. He was the lone representative from the state of Maryland in the national meet.
Severna Park head coach Josh Alcombright was able to join Clark out in Oregon to support and also share some updates and tweets on the weekend.
Only a junior, Clark gained some valuable national meet experience that should carry over well into his track season as well as when he returns in 2019 to tackle his senior season with his defending 4A state champion cross country squad.
