A pair of athletes from New Town High School broke meet records in a very difficult venue to run fast in at the Baltimore Armory since spikes are not allowed on their surface and also a short track with a tighter turns for the circular races.
In the boys 55 meter dash finals, Jordan Cofield of New Town broke a Baltimore County Championships meet record which had stood since 1993 with his MD #4 6.47 clocking. The defending 2A state champ in the event, Cofield appears ready to go sub 6.4 when he finally gets an opportunity to spike it up at the state meet.

Cofield's teammate Brandon James also had a historic performance breaking an even older meet record which had lasted since 1991. Running from the slow section, James had plenty of space ahead of him to navigate around the track surface at the Armory for a 36.52 clocking.

A third meet record was set in the girls 55 meter dash as Franklin's Tylar Colbert broke the record twice in the prelims and finals with her last race being her fastest with a 7.27 clocking in the finals. The winning efforts of Colbert and teammates Cameron Hinton (500m) and Nyjari McNeil (1600m, 800m) were not enough for Franklin to overtake Hereford's depth for the team title.
The Dulaney boys (149 pts) were runaway champions by a whopping margin of 145 points ahead of New Town (44 pts) with the two meet record breakers.
