Walter Johnson senior Abbey Green ran a personal best time and one of the fastest performances in state history for 3200 meters with her 10:21.97 performance at the 4A West Regional last week at Gaithersburg High School. Green came back on day two of the regional meet to also win the 1600 (4:55.34) and 800 (2:14.63) in personal best efforts for the University of Virginia recruit.
She will head into the state meet this week as the top seed and favorite in 4A for all 3 distance events as she attempts to complete the difficult task of tripling and earning first places finishes in the 3200, 1600, and 800. She nearly won all 3 indoors, but finished second in the 800 after winning the 1600 and 3200 earlier in the meet.
