Both Malia Watkins (left) of Frederick Douglass and Noelani Phillips (right) of Blake ran quick times in rare opportunities to run events not commonly contested indoors in Maryland. Watkins rolled to a 7.87 clocking in the 60 meter dash finals, while Phillips posted a swift time of 25.22 in the 200 meter dash against Watkins after also winning the 400 earlier in 58.01. Watkins also ran a leg on Frederick Douglass 1st place 4x200 meter relay who ran just off their state leading time at 1:43.70.
