Jalen Jackson and the rest of the Largo boys dominate many of the sprint and mid-distance rankings so far this year in the 1A classification. Jackson leads all 1A boys this year in the 300 meter dash while fellow seniors Anthony Hill and Aharon Luster rank 1-2 in the 800 meter run. The three come together to collectively rank first (Luster), fourth (Jackson) and fifth (Hill) in the 500 meter dash, and the Lions also lead the 1A field in both the 4x400 and 4x800 relays.

Catoctin's Emma Strickland has run nearly every event on the track this season from the 55 meter dash to the 1600 meter run, but it's in the 800 meter run in which she leads all 1A runners so far this winter. Strickland has won the last two 1A indoor 800 meter titles, setting an indoor personal best of 2:23.68 last February.
