Seneca Valley's Deborah Gnoumou has been a staple in the short hurdles over the past two years at the state meet. She has won two different state titles over that time frame and finished as the state runner-up two more times, and now Gnoumou currently leads the 2A classification in the 55 meter hurdles. She has won each of her last two races, at the Dickinson and Mountain Express Holiday invitationals.

Behind a big anchor leg from senior Kyle Lund (who also currently leads all 2A runners in the 800 and 1600 meters), the Oakdale boys took over the top spot on the classification leaderboard in the 4x800 relay at the Howard County Winter Festival. The Bears return three quarters of a team (including Lund) that ran 7:57 in a winning effort at the outdoor state meet in May.
