Westminster's Anders Madsen brings the fifth-best returning three mile time to Carroll County this year, and is also the fifth-fastest returner from last year's county championships. He ranks even higher by returning track times after a solid junior indoor season during which he ran 2:06/4:44. Madsen will likely be the top returner for an Owls squad that graduated almost nobody from their 2019 team, varsity or otherwise.

Century's Hayden Hebert came just a few seconds short of becoming Century's first-ever individual county XC champion, and is clearly the runner to beat entering his senior season. Hebert was also Carroll County's top runner this past winter, returning or not - both his 1600 (4:27) and 3200 (9:43) season bests from this past winter ranked among the top eight on Maryland's junior leaderboard.
