Bowie impressed at the 4A Championship, scoring 61 points, 13 more than runner-up Seneca Valley. It's no secret that the 400 is the strongest event for Bowie. Wesley Todd placed second in the open 400 running 48.49, and Levi Newmann was third running 48.57. The duo were also part of the 4x400 and 4x200 relay which both took gold. The 4x400 ran 3:16.94, and the 4x200 ran 1:27.13. Both times were the top times in any classification. Bowie also got help from hurdler J'Marcus Hines who placed 2nd in the 300m Hurdles (39.30) and 4th in the 110m Hurdles (14.73)
Jaylin Ivy also helped them with big points in the discus, placing 4th with a toss of 142-09, and 4th in the Shot, throwing 48-00.5.

Individually Mykel Morman (Henry A Wise) showed that he was the best sprinter in 4A. The Maryland Commit won both the 100 (10.61), and 200 (21.58). He was also on the 4x100 and 4x400m relays that placed 2nd.
In the distance events, Ty Dailey (Dulaney) capped off an incredible 4-year high school career with a win in the 1600 (4:18.01). Dailey has state championship medals across all three seasons and has been one of the most dominant and consistent distance runners in the last 3 years.

Gage Osborne (Northwest) took gold in the 800 with a time of 1:55.98, a new personal best for him.
Montgomery Blair took top honors in a very close 4x800 race as they won by less than a second over Broadneck. Their winning time was 7:58.48
Chimdy Onoh (Dundalk) took home two more gold medals in both shot (57-06) and Disc (174-08) and showed why he is the best thrower in the state and one of the best in the nation!
Desmond Whitley (Clarksburg) jumped 47-05.5 in the triple and Justin DeVaughn (Mervo) jumped 22-11 in the Long Jump. Both jumps earned gold medals!
Girls
In the girl's championship, Urbana took control early and never looked back. They scored 82.5 points, 19.5 more than runner-up C.H. Flowers. The 100m Hurldes was the strongest event for the Hawks as Angeline Amefia placed 1st (14.59), Divine Bamgboye was fourth (15.06) and Felicia Siewe was 6th (15.21). That was good for 18 team points! Bamboo added 6 points in the 300m Hurdles, placing 3rd in 45.31. Samantha Heyison showed she is one of the best throwers in the state as she won the Disc with a toss of 121-08 and the Shot with a toss of 35-11.
Pole Vault was also a strong event as they placed 2-4-5 for a total of 17 points. Bailey Smith (10-0) was second, Roshna Vijayan was 4th (9-06) and Daniela Delgado was 5th (9-00).

In the sprint events, Cohren Corbin (North Point) shined as she won the 100m (12.05), and 200m (24.72), and helped her 4x200 team place second in 1:41.29. Noel Evans (Arundel) ran 55.28 to take gold in the 400.
In distance races, Grace Finnegan (Richard Montgomery) got her first big state win in the 800 with a time of 2:17.29. Victoria Ketzler (Wootton) backed up her indoor 1600 win with a gold in the outdoor meet running 4:58.29. Katherine Greenwald ran 10:49.37 to take the win in the 3200. She is only a sophomore and looks primed to win multiple state champs over the next two years!

Carson Boteler (Broadneck) backed her Indoor State win with a jump of 11-00. Corinne Ball won both the Long (18-05.25) and Triple (37-00.5).
