Salute to Seniors: Severna Park's Cami Glebocki

Name: Cami Glebocki

High School: Severna Park

What was your most memorable race/throw/jump/vault/moment? Why is that?

The cross country state meet senior year (2022) because my team was State Champs on both the girl's and boy's team.

Was there a certain moment or breakthrough race/meet when you realized you would be able to compete at a high level?

During junior year indoor track season when I qualified for state for the first time in the 3200.

What are some bumps in the road that you've encountered when it comes to training for different events during the season?

During sophomore year I had really low iron and it had tremendous effects on my running performance.

If you are writing a letter to your younger freshman self, what advice might you give them?

Stay consistent (especially in summer training) because it will pay off!

If you had to pick: Track and Field or Cross Country, and why? (If you only run Track, then don't worry about explaining why).

Cross Country because I think the team energy is so much stronger and everyone gets a lot closer. I also think running on courses is more interesting and run than the track.

What are your post-high school or college plans? If Running in college, explain why you picked that school.

I will be running cross country and track at Elon University in North Caroline. I picked this school for the amazing coaches that I met and the feeling that I got when I visited the school (it just felt like home).

What is your favorite pre-race snack, tradition, etc.?

Having my teammates braid my hair and I like to eat bagels and granola bars as a snack.

Name the top Maryland Cross Country or Track moment(s) you have witnessed. Can be by level of greatness or just something that really stood out to you.

Anytime Lexi Ensor raced! She has the best kick ever.

Who would you like to say "thank you" to?

Definitely my coaches; Coach Alcombright and Coach Marvel! They have taught me so much and I do not think I'd be where I am today without them.
