The MISAL Championship headlined a busy week for Maryland's middle school athletes, serving as the springboard for some of the season's strongest performances.
The Calvert County Middle School Meet #2 also played host to plenty of notable marks.
Here's a look at five girls and five boys who stood out last week!

Top Performers:
Bailey Tinch-Jacobs (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
The top sprint double among all girls at the MISAL Championship belonged to Tinch-Jacobs, who won the 100m in 13.09 and followed it up with a 27.93 showing in the 200m.
Mark Eggleston (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
Eggleston leaped 18-8.50 in the long jump, went 24.47 in the 200m, and posted a 54.47 clocking in the 400m, for one of the most complete individual performances at the MISAL Championship last week.
Victoria Long (Calvert Middle, 2030):
The top sprint marks among all girls at the Calvert County Middle School Meet #2 went to Long, who ran 13.04 in the 100m and 26.54 in the 200m.
Daniel Forlu (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
With a 36-10 in the shot put, 58.56 in the 400m, and 15-11 in the long jump at the MISAL Championship, Forlu put together the most versatile combined track and field performance among all boys at the meet.
Seiya Cage (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
Leading all girls in the 400m at 59.11 and the long jump at 15-3.50, Cage covered both the track and the runway admirably at the MISAL Championship last week.
Justin Reid Jr (Holy Trinity Episcopal, 2030):
The fastest 400m among all boys at the MISAL Championship belonged to Reid Jr, who stopped the clock at 53.49 and added a 12.28 in the 100m on the same day.
Maya Thorpe (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
With a throw of 41-11 in the shot put, Thorpe posted the top mark among all girls at the MISAL Championship, and the best of her middle school career.
Kharson Mccall (Grace Brethren Christian, 2031):
A 54.53 in the 400m and 25.76 in the 200m gave Mccall one of the stronger combined sprint profiles among all boys at the MISAL Championship last week, as a seventh grader.
Savannah Jenkins (Windy Hill Middle, 2030):
At the Calvert County Middle School Meet #2, Jenkins led all girls in the discus at 73-4 and also cleared 4-0 in the high jump, contributing across a unique two-event spread.
Antoine Young (Mill Creek Middle, 2030):
Young's 116-5 in the discus at the Calvert County Middle School Meet #2 was the top throws mark posted by any boy at either meet last week.
