The phone call came at 6 am.  A terrible wakeup call she would never forget! 

 

Elizabeth Muehl’s high school cross country and track coach, Tim Cook, along with his wife, had been killed by a drunk driver at 11:30 pm the night before on December 13th, 2002.

 

 “I can talk all day about him.  He cared about the whole person!  Not only times, winning and losing.  He never forgot that these were kids.  You never felt like a disappointment to him.  The only disappointment he would have is if you did things like lie, cheat or not follow the rules.”

“He truly prepared you to be a better person in life!  Not a better athlete, but a better person!  Grades, family life and athletics.”

 

“He cared about everybody!  Not just the varsity runners.  He wanted to win, but not ignoring the 39th girl on the team.  He put together workout for everybody!”
