Loeb Finishes Sixth in 5,000-meter Run

LANDOVER, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team placed seventh at the Terrapin Invitational, Saturday, hosted by the University of Maryland.
The Blue Jays finished with a team score of 32.5 points. Meet host Maryland captured a first place finish with 144 points while Hampton took second with 120.5. University of Maryland Baltimore County rounded out the top-three finishes with 70 points. Hopkins was the only Centennial school to compete in the meet.
Junior Alexa Tzaferos captured a first-place finish, 38th overall, in her heat of the 400-meter run. Tzaferos crossed the finish line at 1:05.32.
Junior Monika Sullivan finished 23rd in the 600-meter run (1:47.70) while sophomoreMaggie Shelton came in 24th with a time of 1:49.93. Freshman Megan Kelley took 26th with a time of 1:51.63.
Senior Cassie Cummings captured a 20th place finish in the 800-meter run, crossing the line at 2:31.34 with freshman Jill Anderson close behind for a 22nd place finish at 2:33.40. Sophomore Lily Murphy placed 10th in the one-mile run. Murphy finished with a time of 5:29.31. Sophomore Paige Boehmcke placed 15th in the one-mile run with a time of 5:34.86.
Sophomore Frances Doughtery captured an eighth place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:49.02. Freshman Frances Loeb captured Hopkins highest finish in the track events with a sixth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:27.75.
The Johns Hopkins distance medley relay team took seventh with a time of 13:20.93.
Freshman Kelsey Bowercaptured fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters (10'0") while junior Emily Kashka took fifth with a jump of 2.90 meters (9'6.25"). Junior Tracy Vill took eighth with a jump 2.45 meters (8'0.5").
Johns Hopkins return to action next week when the Blue Jays travel to State College, PA to compete in the Penn State
