I just don't get it. If a timer/meet director isn't going to use hytek, why not use software that is equal to it and FREE!
RaceTab makes your life easier. It is FREE. It is a fully functional meet management software package with every capability one needs and more for scoring a high school (or any level) cross country and or track meet, yet people are still using excel, word or stone age programs that have ugly formats and you practically have to be a computer programmer to understand.
Hytek and RaceTab are the most powerful and easy to use programs out there as well as the cleanest output formats. Why use anything else? And why even use Hytek, which cost so much, when you can use RaceTab for free?
I just don't get it. I'm a coach. I'm a meet director. I want to use the simplest, easiest tools that get the job done well for the least amount of money possible.
Less work, fewer headaches, cutting edge technology, so easy a cave man can use it, beautiful print outs and FREE!!!
Don't have a timer? No problem. Don't have automatic timing? No problem.
You could flip open a lap top at the meet, fire up RaceTab and have the meet scored 5 minutes after the final runner crosses the line, print the results out or throw them up live on the internet!
It really is that easy. RaceTab has a native stop watch in it. You just hit the space bar for every finisher as they cross the line. Then, start typing in their names, which RaceTab will autofill for you (team names and grade too). Click score the meet and voila! Your meet is scored and ready to be reported.
You can then upload them to our live results service, which is also FREE, and/or print out beautiful, clean and easy to read results to post at the meet.
You can run all kinds of reports. You can include all kinds of stats, like pack time, total time, average time, etc. Whatever you want.
If you do have a timer and/or your own automatic timing system, RaceTab works with FAT systems as well, just like Hytek.
So, again, I ask, why use excel? Why use word? Why use anything else?
Give yourself fewer headaches. Give yourself less work to do.
Lastly, it takes a lot of time, A LOT OF TIME, for us to re-format results that are not hytek or RaceTab in order to upload them to database. So, that's just one more plus for RaceTab.
Our database is alive! What do I mean? I mean it is searchable, filterable, and useable! Parents, do you want your sons' and daughters' performances to be easily found and seen by college coaches? Athlete profile pages have all your athlete's performances in once place for college coaches to easily scout. So let your coaches and meet directors know: Use RaceTab (not excel) and get the results into us, the sooner the better!
While I'm at it, I might as well mention the cheapest online registration system out there as well. It's not free, like RaceTab, but darn near close!
Try them both! You'll be glad you did
