Cross Country Roundup: Kent Island sweeps Class 2A East Region

CLASS 2A EAST REGION MEET: Clare Stanfield (20:29.1), Madeline Masucci (20:56.0) and Ellie Hickman (21:06.8) finished second, third and fourth, respecitvely, to lead Kent Island’s girls to a region title with a 35-79 marking over North East. Megan Young’s 21:44.9 was good for 12th, and Jocelyn Moulden’s 21:56.8 placed her 16th. Led by a second-place finish by Nikolai Rhodes (16:39.8) and a third by Anthony Carroll (16:40.3), Kent Island’s boys joined the girls by winning a region title with a 30-76 edging of Edgewood. Ryan Clocker finished sixth in 17:05.5, and Daniel Caldwell crossed in eighth in 17:22.9. Joe Kelly was 11th in 17:30.2.
